The clip, believed to be several years old, surfaced on social media on Monday and appeared to show English top-flight official Coote making disparaging remarks about Liverpool and former manager Klopp – who left the club in the summer. The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) began an investigation into the matter and just a few short hours after this came to light, reports Coote has accepted this X-rated video is not fake, that he doesn't remember the discussion, and it was from several years ago.

WHAT DAVID COOTE SAID
In the video, Coote is asked by another man: "What did you think of the Liverpool game earlier?"
He replies: "Liverpool were sh*t."
He is then asked: "What do you think of Jurgen Klopp?"
Coote replies: "C*nt. Absolute c*nt. Aside from having a right pop at me when I refereed them against Burnley in lockdown, he accused me of lying then had a right f*cking pop at me."
In reference to another game he refereed with Liverpool, he said: "I've got no interest in speaking to someone who's f*cking arrogant. So I do my best not to speak to him. James Milner's alright. You can see me there [in a picture on his phone] with a mask on. Got to careful right, we're social distancing, we're two metres apart. But my God, German c*nt. F*ck me."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The PGMOL has already confirmed Coote has been suspended pending this investigation and the Football Association is looking into this as well. There is a chance the Nottinghamshire native may never referee in football again after this scandal.

WHAT NEXT?
It will just be a matter of time before the PGMOL hands out its verdict on Coote, along with the FA as well. The outcry from this has been huge, with many predicting his career as an official will be over.
